This is in accordance with the presentation the former India captain has given to the BCCI Cricket Advisory Committee during his presentation for the appointment of coach.
The primary objective of having such meeting is to bring all the stakeholders of Indian cricket under one roof and to streamline a process.
It is also learnt that BCCI’s senior and junior national selection committees will also be present in the meeting.
According to sources in Indian team management, “Kumble wants things to run in a smoother fashion especially at the India A and U-19 level. He also wants for the coaching at the NCA to be more streamlined.’
Indian cricket’s long-term goals and streamlining the domestic system will be discussed in the meeting. The newly appointed India coach is also likely to discuss about the current set-up, and players who are not part of the Indian team.
The source further added that Kumble wants the entire Indian cricket machinery to function in a more smooth and seamless manner. He feels if the Indian team has to move forward then all stakeholders will have to work together. He can’t change things on his own.
According to Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan, “It will only benefit Indian cricket when four of the best minds of the game sit together and plan how to take Indian cricket forward.”
