She not only confirmed of being present to cheer the players but also assured the participation of her two students.
The Olympic medalist Vijender Singh is going to start the first ever professional boxing championship in India at the Thyagaraj stadium, New Delhi. The title named WBO Super Middle-weight Asia Pacific Championship Title is to inaugurate on 16th July consisting national and international boxers.
Previously the title was criticized by several critics. But with the nod from M.C. Mary Kom the critics will be well answered. Mary Kom assured that two female boxers from her foundation are to participate under card fight. They will be part of the three round contests.
Mary Kom said, “I am really excited to be a part of Vijender’s first title fight. The first ever professional boxing show will be a boost to the Indian pro-boxing and will be encouraging to new comers to the Indian boxing world.”
Mary Kom also assured to be present at the gallery to cheer the participants. This made the organizing head, Vijender encouraged. He said, “I welcome my sister M.C. Mary Kom for being a part of the title bout. I am sure that the boxing lovers will enjoy the undercard fight
between the female boxers from the foundation of Mary Kom.”
Mary Kom too was quoted as saying, "I would like to wish good luck to my dear brother Vijender Singh and will be there in New Delhi to cheer him."
