TSagnik Hui's Blog:he year of 2018 was a great one for India at the Commonwealth Games, bringing it as many as 66 medals, which was one of the best performance of India. This year the Commonwealth Games was set up in Australia at a place named Gold Coast for about 12 days. Almost as many as many thousand athletes have showcased their talent and have clinched their share of applause from the people. The medal tally looks something convincingly like, with Australia topping the tally with 198 medals of which 79 are gold, then comes England with 136 medals of which 45 are Gold and India on the third with 66 medals of which 26 are Gold. This was almost one of the best showcase of India at the Commonwealth games.  

This Commonwealth, has provided India with the glimpse of some of the every young talents, who otherwise stay aloof from publicity under the umbrella of some mammoth performers who have proven themselves from time to time. The list includes firstly Anish Bhanwala, aged 15 became the youngest gold medal winner for India at this CWG for 25mm rapid fire pistol shooting. Next comes Manu Bhaker, aged 16 won gold medal in women's 10m air pistol event at the CWG. Third comes Manika Batra, aged just 22 years won 4 medals including 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Next comes Neeraj Chopra, aged 20 won gold medal for India for the first time in Javelin throw.

Besides this some of the prominent players like M C Mary Kom has also won a gold medal in the CWG. Moreover Saina Nehwal clinched the gold medal from her long time competitor P V Sindhu in the Badminton finals. Kidambi Srikanth lost to the former number 1 in Badminton and needs to get satisfied with a silver medal in a nail biting match. Moreover shooting has this year brought a well handsome amount of medals with the tally reaching up to 16 with 7 gold, next comes wrestling with 12 medals of which 5 are gold, then comes weightlifting and boxing with 9 medals of which 5 are gold each and so on. Jitu Rai, Sushil Kumar, Babita Phogat, Sakshi Malik have all been successful in showcasing a great performance in the CWG, 2018.

This time, India has got some of the un-expected medals at Javelin throw and Discuss throw as well as squash events. Overall, the performance of our country was a great one this time, with such huge appreciation from our PM Shri Narendra Modi as well as the whole country. The whole country is proud of its boys and girls are waiting to welcome them as they reach home. The closing ceremony was indeed a great one, with legendary boxer M C Mary Kom bearing the Indian flag at the ceremony. It was also indeed a proud moment for the whole country.
