IPL 2018: CSK vs KXIP | 6 Cricketers who can change the game on their own

XtraTime Web Desk: Indian Premier League is at its business end and five teams are currently fighting for the number three and number four spot as SunRisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings have already reached the playoffs. On the way a depleted Kings XI Punjab will face Chennai Super Kings in a must win game and not only that they have to win the game with a big margin to qualify as KXIP has a very poor net run rate.

Here we will talk about the players who can change the game on their own in this game:

Chennai Super Kings

Mahendra Singh Dhoni: He is in form of his life in this year’s IPL with 430 runs in just 13 matches and his strike rate is 155.23. In most of the matches he came as a finisher and ended the game in style for his side. Ahead of the playoffs MS Dhoni would be looking to perform well in their last group league game to carry their momentum in the knockouts.

Shane Watson: The veteran Aussie batsman is standing like a rock in the opening of Chennai Super Kings. In most of the matches his brilliant knock at the start helped CSK to win their matches. In this season he has scored 438 runs so far in 13 matches with a strike rate of 147.47. CSK needs his good form against Kings XI Punjab as well to get the team over the line.

Ambati Rayudu:  Rayudu’s form is another reason for CSK’s good show this season as he has evolved as a match winner for the side in most times. His destructive batting against top teams helped the lower order batsmen to bat freely. Rayudu has scored 585 runs in 13 matches with a strike rate of 154.35 and he has a century as well in this season. His form would be the key against Punjab as well.

Kings XI Punjab

KL Rahul: He is the reason why Punjab is still in contention of reaching the playoffs. Rahul is holding the top spot of the most run scorers list in this season with 652 runs in 13 matches. His red hot form in the ongoing season will be the key against CSK as well.

Chris Gayle: The Jamaican maestro has a mixed season so far and he is just one game away to play another big knock and that can come against Chennai. Gayle has scored 368 runs in 10 matches with a strike rate of 147.20 and can be a game changer for KXIP.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman: The young sensation of Afghanistan has impressed everyone with his spin bowling during his ongoing maiden stint of Indian Premier League for Kings XI Punjab. In 11 matches he has taken 14 wickets so far and can change the game on his own against CSK.
