Soumajit Dey: We all know that T20 is a very fast game and one should have to be supremely fit in this format. In this season’s Indian Premier League a lot of young players have performed really well but there are a few aged players as well who have proved to everyone that age is just a number and they belong in the T20 format.

Here we will talk about 5 aged cricketers who have showed their class in this year’s IPL:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni: The 36 years old former India skipper is in form of his life in this year’s IPL with 430 runs in just 13 matches and his strike rate is 155.23. In most of the matches he came as a finisher and ended the game in style for his side. Dhoni would be looking to perform well in the same fashion as well during the playoffs.

AB de Villiers: He is known as Mr.360* for his destructive batting through all parts of the ground. At the age of 34 the South African sensation has scored 480 runs from 12 matches for his side in this year’s IPL. Though Royal Challengers has failed to reach the playoffs but his batting was just treat to watch at this age.

Shane Watson: The veteran Aussie batsman is standing like a rock in the opening of Chennai Super Kings. In most of the matches his brilliant knock at the start helped CSK to win their matches. At the age of 36 he has scored 438 runs so far in 13 matches with a strike rate of 147.47. CSK needs his good form in the playoffs as well to win the cup again.

Ambati Rayudu:  Rayudu’s form is another reason for CSK’s good show this season as he has evolved as a match winner for the side in most times. His destructive batting against top teams helped the lower order batsmen to bat freely. Rayudu aged 32 has scored 585 runs in 13 matches with a strike rate of 154.35 and he has a century as well in this season.

Dinesh Karthik: After Gautam Gambhir left KKR for Delhi Daredevils the team management replaced him with India’s veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik who is 32 years of age. In the group league Karthik’s performance is very good with the bat as he scored 438 runs from 14 matches with an amazing strike rate of 149.48. In many matches, he remained not out at the crease and took his side home. The team management would definitely want more from him in the playoffs.
