IPL 2018: Shami doesn't travel with the team, stays back in Kolkata. Find out why?

Kolkata: Indian cricket team’s ace pacer Mohammed Shami is in further trouble as the Women’s Grievance Cell of Kolkata Police has summoned him for interrogation regarding the complaint filed by his wife Hasin Jahan last month. In the evening, Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police (Crime) Praveen Tripathy confirmed that Shami will be in Lalbazar at 2 pm tomorrow and they have also asked Hasin Jahan to be present there at 12 pm to meet the officers. Earlier after getting the summon from the  Women’s Grievance Cell, Shami didn't fly with the team which traveled to Bengaluru today and stayed back in Kolkata.

Last week, Hasin filed a complaint against her husband at Alipore court where she asked for 10 lakh rupees as the maintenance money for her and her daughter. Beside that she also filed a case under Domestic Violence Act 2005 against Shami and his family members.

The matter first came in public when Hasin Jahan first filed a case against Mohammed Shami on March 8 to Kolkata Police. The sections of her complaint are 498A (domestic violence), 376 (rape), 307 (attempt to murder) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of IPC, among them many are non bail able. Earlier on March 19, she also recorded her secret statement in front of a magistrate at Alipore court as well.

Earlier BCCI’s anti-corruption unit gave a clean chit to Mohammed Shami from the match fixing allegations and after that he joined his IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils. Shami and Hasin later met in Delhi after Shami got injured in a road accident.
