Kolkata: Before the IPL begins, Indian cricket team’s star wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha took the club tournament by storm. This year Wriddhiman will feature for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. Before that he proved his batting skills with a brilliant century.

Today in the J. C. Mukherjee Trophy there was a match between Mohun Bagan and BNR. In this T20 format match, BNR scored 151 for 7 in their 20 overs, batting first.

Mohun Bagan chased down this run in just 7 overs without losing a single wicket. Openers of Mohun Bagan, Wriddhiman and Subhomoy Das were lethal right from the word go.

Wriddhiman’s innings had 4 boundaries and 14 sixes, an innings of decor and grit. He reached his century in just 20 balls which is a World record as well. Wriddhiman told the media, “ After 5 sixes in 5 balls, I tried to hit the last ball for a six as well. Feeling really good that I achieved it."

Besides this Wriddhiman said about his innings, “When I play for India I’m always serious. Same thing applies when I play club cricket or IPL. I got injured during the South Africa tour and had to come back. But before IPL, to score a century in any format is good. I feel more confident. The level of IPL varies from club cricket. But it’s always good to score runs.”
