XtraTime Web Desk: Steve Smith’s problems are far from over and if reports in the English media are to be believed, the 28 year old could be stripped of as the Australian captaincy permanently. The same could be done with David Warner. With this cheating scandal on, it could be a year long ban for both Smith and Warner. Smith has already been suspended for one test in South Africa and docked his entire match fee by the ICC.

According to the latest news, Australian coach Darren Lehmann will resign on Tuesday.

Cricket Australia (CA) boss James Sutherland, under mounting pressure to come down hard on what Australian media has dubbed a “rotten” team culture.

According to Australian media, reports suggest that Smith and Warner can be sent back home due to disgrace and be banned for 12 months.

Lehmann took over the coaching reins in 2013 when he succeeded Mickey Arthur. Now that Lehmann was forced to resign, Justin Langer is considered a front runner although Ricky Ponting will also be in the mix.

“ We are aiming to be in a position to fully update the Australian public on investigation and outcomes on Wednesday morning, “ Sutherland said.

Meanwhile Smith stepped down as captain of Rajasthan Royals as well with India batsman Ajinkya Rahane taking over.
