Exclusive: Trevor Morgan slams Mohun Bagan fans for misbehaving against Sanjoy Sen

Kolkata: Mohun Bagan's former Head Coach Sanjoy Sen got a shameful reception in his last game as coach against Chennai City on Tuesday. The fans spitted at him and threw stones during his press conference. The entire story is very much identical to what happened with former East Bengal coach Trevor James Morgan a few years back. Today, journalist Sabyasachi Bagchi spoke to Trevor on phone to have his reactions. Here goes what he had to say:

Trevor Morgan: Well, I know very well. The contribution of Sanjoy Sen in Mobun Bagan is immense and one doesn't need a Trevor Morgan to certify that. The fans should have remembered what achievements they have had under him. The problem with this fans is that they often forget the success. Same thing happened with me as well. In my first term as coach for East Bengal, I had so many fond memories. The fans too flowered me with love and respect. But when I came to take the charge on the second tenure as coach, the treatment I received from the fans, was extremely painful. I want to criticize the officials as well. I strongly believe that the officials could have handled the issue in a better way. They could have told the fans to stand by his side. I still closely follow the updates of Kolkata and Indian football. I am very aware of the fact that he had the opportunity to play with all five foreigners only once so far in this season. So, what the supporters did with him is extremely shameful and if these things continue, I don't think Indian football can improve from here on.
