Internet Desk: Blow for the Men in Blue as their star middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav is ruled out of the squad for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, said the BCCI today. The first ODI will be played at Dharamsala on Sunday.

Jadhav has suffered a hamstring injury which has ruled him out from the series. In his place the selectors have called Tamil Nadu all-rounder Washington Sundar.

"Jadhav suffered a left hamstring injury during training on Friday and will undergo scans. The BCCI medical team will continue to monitor him," a BCCI release stated.

Sundar has had an impressive outing at the Indian Premier League in the limited opportunities he got at Rising Pune Supergiants.

Earlier, the 18-year-old Chennai cricketer had earned his maiden call-up into the Indian team for the Sri Lanka T20I series.

India squad for ODI series: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, Washington Sundar.
