IND vs NZ 2017: Selectors pick young guns for the T20I series against New Zealand

Internet Desk: The BCCI selectors have picked Shreyas Iyer and Mohammed Siraj for the three-match T20I series against New Zealand which will start after the ongoing ODI series. Veteran left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra too is in the squad as he will retire after the first T20I game in his home town at New Delhi.

The players who have been picked for the T20I series are Virat Kohli (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashish Nehra, Mohammed Siraj.

Shreyas has been performing really well for India ‘A’ team, and Siraj performed really well for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in his last outing.

The India skipper has made it clear that the team management will give a lot of chances to the youngsters ahead of going to the 2019 World Cup in England. The selectors haven’t picked Kedar Jadhav for the T20I series as he failed to perform in the Blue jersey on a constant basis.
