IND vs AUS 2017: India's dominating run over the Aussies continues in the rain-fed T20

Internet Desk: The Indian cricket team have continued their dominant show against Australia as they beat the visitors by 9 wickets via Duckworth Lewis method in the first T20I match at the JSCA International Stadium, Ranchi today. With this win the hosts have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

The visitors scored 118 for the loss of 8 wickets in 18.4 overs before the umpires forced to stop the game due to heavy rain.. After a stoppage of more than an hour the hosts were given a target of 48 runs to win in 6 overs via D/L method. The Men in Blue chased down the target with an ease with three balls to spare.

Earlier India skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and choose to field first. Shikhar Dhawan made a return in the playing XI, on the other hand Steve Smith was not in the Aussie team due to his shoulder injury. In his absence left hand opening batsmen David Warner was leading the side. Warner failed to play a captain's knock as newly engaged Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent him back to the pavillion when his score was just 8. Except Aaron Finch (42) no other batsmen could stay at the crease and the Aussies lost their wickets in regular intervals. Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav were the pick of the bowlers as they picked 2 wickets each for the side.

While chasing, India lost the wicket of star opener Rohit Sharma (11) who was clean bowled by Australian pace spearhead Nathan Coulter-nile. After his departure India skipper Virat Kohli scored a quick fire 22 runs to take his side home. Another opener Shikhar Dhawan remained 15 not out at the crease along with Kohli.

Young chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav was adjudged Man of the Match for his superb bowling performance.
