Kolkata: The FIFA President Gianni Infantino and other FIFA council members would be present in the City of Joy for the FIFA U17 World Cup finals scheduled to take place on October 28 at the Salt lake Stadium. As a mark of respect, the AIFF President Praful Patel has decided to gift these council members a special gift i.e. traditional Indian dresses and the designer for all these costumes would be exclusively designed by the city's very own remarkable fashion designer Agnimitra Paul.

In an interaction with www.xtratime.in the fashion designer shared her thoughts on the above matter.
"This order was given to me by Mr. Praful Patel the President of AIFF when he visited Kolkata, a couple of months back and he asked me to design the costumes of the council members who would be visiting Kolkata on the occasion of FIFA U17 World Cup 2017. A total of 36 council members, comprising of 29 males and 7 females would be present here and these would be a gift to them by the AIFF. These members are would be visiting out city from various parts of the globe and thus the event has been named as 'Celebrating India'." said Agnimitra Paul.

"The costume which I have designed for the males is kurtas made of pure raw silk, Jawar coats which would be made from various textiles from all over India like ikkats, Madhubani paintings. Thus overall it's a touch of India in the costumes. As for the females, the dress is a mutka kurta with exquisite embroidery, latkans, dupattas and a churidar. Some of the girls would also be wearing a long skirt made of Georgette, kurtis. Overall it's a mixture of various kinds of fabriques." she added.

"The respective clothings would be kept ready in their rooms with a letter from us depicting that the dresses have been made for them with  love and  sincerity and would also be requesting them to wear these dresses on the evening of October 27." she concluded.
