Ashish Nehra reveals the date of his retirement

Internet Desk: Veteran Indian left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra who recently made a comeback in the nation’s T20 squad against Australia has informed the team management that he would like to hang his boots after the T20I match against New Zealand on November 1.

A senior BCCI official told Cricketnext that Nehra has already talked regarding this matter with India skipper Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri and informed the team mates about his decision.

"What we have heard is that Nehra has spoken to the captain and coach and informed them about his decision to retire after the T20 match in Delhi. Nehra has requested for one last match at his home ground and wants to go out on a high," the official said.

The veteran pacer was a part of the Indian squad for the three T20 games against Australia but he is yet to play a game.

The star speed head made his debut under Mohammed Azharuddin and has played 17 tests, 157 ODIs and 34 T20s till now.

Nehra was a vital part of the Indian squad that won the ICC World Cup in 2011 but missed the finals owing to a fractured finger.

Nehra has been approached by a couple IPL franshises for being mentors owing to is vast knowledge about the game.
