Internet Desk: India is just a win away from sealing five-match ODI series against Australia. They have already leading the series 2-0 and a win at Indore will give them an unassailable lead in the series. India’s star opener Shikhar Dhawan is not playing the first three matches as he is with his wife who had undergone an operation. In his absence Ajinkya Rahane is opening the innings along with Rohit Sharma. In the first match in Chennai Rahane failed to reach the double figure but in the second ODI at the Eden Gardens he played an useful knock of 55 runs to help his side to put up a respective total on board against the Aussies. Rahane, however, is not ready to think too much about the future.

“I think of staying in the present. The idea is to stick to my game plan and play my best. Every time you can’t score 100, at times, there are crucial 45-50s. When Shikhar comes we don’t know what will happen. My job is to perform well,” said Rahane at the pre-match press conference today.

The Aussies have failed to pick the Indian wrist-spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the ongoing ODI series. India batsman Ajinkya Rahane, however, feels it is a good sign for the Men in Blue.

“It is a good sign that they are not able to beat them. They (Chahal and Yadav) both are quality spinners, and have done well in the domestic circuit. They are improving day by day, and most importantly, are taking wickets in middle overs and not conceding runs,” Rahane said on Saturday. “The good thing is they are not taking things for granted.”

Rahane, who met Sachin Tendulkar a few days back, also believes that it is important to have a positive mindset. That’s something that has worked for the side. “After Rohit was out, Virat and I decided to counter-attack. That was the plan,” Rahane said about his partnership with Virat Kohli in Kolkata.
