Kolkata: Owing to severe abdominal pain in former Bengal cricketer and coach Shib Shankar Paul underwent an operation today. Consulting a doctor a couple of days back, Paul underwent an appendix surgery today in a private hospital located in EM Bypass.
The Bowler underwent a successful surgery yesterday and is on his road to recovery.
“I didn't want to take any risk owing to a long cricket season on the upcoming days” said Paul who currently manages Sourav Ganguly’s Barisha club.
The veteran right arm medium bowler scalped 220 wickets in 61 games on first class cricket.
