Kedar Jadhav's introduction was the turning point of the match, says Mashrafe Mortaza

Internet Desk: Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza has said the turning point of the match was Kedar Jadhav’s introduction into the bowling attack by India. The part-time spinner ended his spell with the ball by taking 2 wickets for 22, and he also took two crucial wickets of two well set batsmen Tamim Iqbal (71) and Mushfiqur Rahim (61).

"We should have put on a bigger total. The way that Tamim and Musfiqur were dismissed by a part-time bowler (Kedar Jadhav), it became difficult for us. When they were at the crease, we were at the top. It could have been easily in the region of 330 or 340 but after the wickets fell, it was always difficult to reach 300," said Mashrafe at the post match press-conference.

India registered a thumping nine-wicket win over Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi side failed in all departments against the defending champions.

"We have some experienced players who would come in strongly next time. We need to be mentally strong. Skill wise we are fine but when you are playing a game like this, you need to be mentally strong," said the Bangladesh skipper after the end of the match.

"We have repeated these mistakes often in big matches. This was a match where we should have scored 330 but ended up scoring 264. We need to get mentally tough in these situations and when we come back next time, may be correct mistakes," he added.

According to Mortaza they were 60-70 runs short from their goal. They could have reached their target but failed to do that due to fall of wickets in quick succession in the middle overs.

"We always knew it is going to be a very difficult match. The way Tamim and Musfiqur batted and the way Sabbir started his innings, it didn't seem like we were feeling the pressure. But once we started to lose wickets in the middle overs, it became difficult from there," Mortaza said.
