The Indian cricket team will face Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday. File Pic[/caption]Debasis Sen, Birmingham: Indian coach Anil Kumble and captain Virat Kohli has decided to leave aside their differences of opinion ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy opener against Pakistan here on June 4. Both Kumble and Kohli were seen having a long discussion ahead of India’s practice session at the Colts Cricket Ground. Later during the indoor nets, Kumble was seen giving throw downs to Kohli at the indoor nets of the Warwickshire county cricket club.
There were reports of rift between the Indian captain and coach and enough newsprint has been wasted in the last few days. But Kumble and Kohli has decided to leave behind their differences and move ahead. There were hardly any words exchanged between the two during the last few days.
The Indians had a good two hour work-out at the indoor nets here after rain forced them to stop practice at the Colts Cricket ground. The players were seen rushing to the team coach parked adjacent to the CCC.
The most notable aspect of the Indian training session was Rabindra Jadeja bowling left arm seam to Kohli, keeping in mind that the Pakistan bowling attacked is stacked with three left arm fast bowlers in Md Amir, Junaid Khan and Wahab Riyaz. The last one though is doubtful for Sunday’s tie.
It is very likely that India will open the innings with their trusted pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan at the nets. The two were seen batting first at the indoor nets today. The fast bowlers were given a break as there wasn’t enough place at the indoors.
MS Dhoni was seen giving throw downs to Kohli, Yuvraj and other batsmen at the nets. The former India captain is seen playing this role ever since the team arrived in England.
