Image Source: santabanta.com[/caption]Internet Desk: The city of Varanasi is all geared up to host its maiden World Bodybuilding & Physique competition from October 14-15, 2017. The tournament will see the gold medalist of all continental championships and WBPF World Championships for the past 2 years participating. The Pro Competition shall be held in 4 weight categories for Bodybuilding: 80kg., 90kg., +90kg and over 100 kg. The overall winners of the WBPF Pro Bodybuilding for men and women shall be crowned as MR. and MS. OLYMPUS. It was also decided in the meeting last month that the event will be highly popularized. The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the WBPF Datuk Paul Chua. Following are the minutes of the meeting held last month:
- Any country, club or manufacturers of fitness equipment or Supplement Company may apply for membership to the WBPF Pro League apart from the existing members of the WBPF;
- Membership fees will be US$2,000 for a 3 year period;
- Only Bodybuilders and Physique Sports Athletes holding a WBPF PRO Card will be allowed to participate in the tournament
- The charges for pro cards for men bodybuilders US$400.- and women bodybuilders US$200, Men's Model Sports Physique US$400.- and Model Physique for Women US$300;
- The gold medalist of all continental championships and WBPF World Championships for the past 2 years and current year shall not be charged for the Pro Card;
- Any sports person man or woman from other federations shall be eligible to participate provided they produce theirparticipation certificate or proof and only Gold and Silver Medalist will be accepted, however, they are required to register and obtain the Pro Card and participate as per Article No.4 for the discipline they prefer to compete;
- The panel of judges has to be precise and WBPF and Continental judges can upgrade to the WBPF PRO LEAGUE Judges Card after taking exams and make payment to the WBPF Pro League to obtain their Pro Judging Card;
- The Pro Competition shall be held in 4 weight categories for Bodybuilding: 80kg. 90kg. +90kg and over 100 kg
- For women Model Physique and men's Sports Model - there will be only one open category for each gender
- There will be one open category for Master Men's Bodybuilding above 50 years of age;
- The overall winners of the WBPF Pro Bodybuilding for men and women shall be crowned as MR. and MS. OLYMPUS
