Shashank Manohar is likely to continue as ICC Chairman for another term.[/caption]Internet Desk: Much to the dislike of the BCCI members, International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Shashank Manohar may continue in his post for another term. Manohar played a key role in reforming the ‘Big Three’ Revenue Model of the ICC, which guaranteed India, England and Australia the lion’s share of ICC’s revenue and more power in governance.
According to reports, the ICC chairman is being approached by most of the board members to reconsider his decision to relinquish the post after completing a one year term in June. Manohar had earlier announced that he would be quitting the post of chairman after the June conference where the new constitution and revenue model would be ratified. The former BCCI President was appointed as the first independent chairman of the International Cricket Council in May last year.
It has been learnt that the members discussed about the successor of Manohar in the ICC meeting last week in Dubai. But the turn of events over the last week has influenced most of the members to request Manohar to continue with his post for another term.
Giles Clarke of England, David Peever of Australia and Thilanga Sumathipala of Sri Lanka were the contenders.
