Debasis Sen, Birmingham: Team India led by Virat Kohli arrived in Birmingham from London on Wednesday afternoon for the ICC Champions Trophy clash against arch rivals Pakistan at Edgbaston on June 04. The clash is tipped to be a high voltage affair between the two cross border nations.

The Indian team led by Virat Kohli are the reigning champions. The last time the two sides met in this tournament in 2013 at the same venue, India emerged with victorious.

Shikhar Dhawan, who had an outstanding tournament in 2013, was seen accompanied by his wife and son. It was truly Dhawan’s tournament as he amassed 363 runs he scored in the tournament, which eventually earned him the 'Player of the Tournament' award.

India won a close final against hosts England in the rain curtailed final. The men in blue had two great wins against New Zealand and Bangladesh in warm up matches.

The Indians preferred to stay in their hotel rooms while the Pakistanis sweated at the Colts cricket ground here.

Pakistan will rely on their batting main stay Babar Azam in the absence of stalwarts like Misbah ul Haq, Younis Khan, Kamran and Umar Akmal. The bowling department will be led by Md. Amir and Wahab Riyaz, who is not fully fit. Riyaz is nursing a knee injury and did not bowl at the nets today.

India, who defeated New Zealand and Bangladesh in warm up matches ahead of the formal commencement of the tournament, preferred not to train on Wednesday.

The Indians will be training tomorrow at the Edgbaston ground in the morning while the Pakistanis will train in the afternoon.
