Sony Norde lauded Aizawl FC for their amazing performance. |Image Source: XtraTime[/caption]Mohun Bagan's Haitian superstar Sony Norde lauded the amazing I-League performance of Khalid Jamil's Aizawl FC as the Mohun Bagan winger said, "They deserve this moment. I will be happy if they become the eventual champions." At the same time, he added, "At the same time, I would be happier if they lose the game against Shillong Lajong. We want to concentrate on our game though."
The Mohun Bagan winger also said, "The title hopes are not entirely dependent on us. We will try our best to win the game. If we cannot win the I-League, then we will be shifting our focus to win the Federation Cup." He added, "In the previous season as well, we failed to win the league but managed to be the champions of the Federation Cup. This might be thye story in this season as well."
Sony believes that the defeat against Aizawl was a destiny and said, "People are saying that we should have trained on the artificial turf before playing the Aizawl game, but I believe that's an excuse and they deserved to win that game."
On the flip side, Bagan official Debasish Dutta hinted the possibility of playing in the ISL as he said, "There is still a lot of time left for the decision to be taken. Six months time is a lot of time. We will first have the U17 FIFA World Cup, then we will have the ISL. It's still very much possible for us to play."
The Bagan official also said, "We are a fan-based club. We will play the top flight football tournament where we would get the opportunity to represent the nation in the AFC Cup."
