Debabrata Sarkar has also made it clear that there is cloud over the future of Trevor Morgan. File Pic[/caption]Kolkata: The grief was mounting. The continuous disdain and negative criticism of East Bengal Secretary Kalyan Majumder regarding the club, the coach and their title hopes were highly criticized by the fans as well as the members of the club. The questions were raised about the standpoint of East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar as well, regarding his say about the comments made by the club Secretary.
At last, the silence has broken. Debabrata Sarkar in an open interaction with the media in the club premises, told, "East Bengal club is not at all responsible for the comments made by the club Secretary. That is entirely his personal opinion and we don't approve that. It might have come from some frustration but as I said, the club is not responsible for his comments."
The question was asked about a group of the club officials who don't want the club to win the I-League. Debabrata, alias Nitu Sarkar retorted, "Those who don't want the club to win the title, will be kicked out of the club. I know how to handle the club administration", he fumed in anger.
Debabrata Sarkar has also made it clear that there is cloud over the future of Trevor Morgan, as he said, "We are not leaving him and he too won't leave us. Simple!".
At the same time, Debabrata also stood by the side of recruiter Santosh Bhattacharya. He said, "Santosh never helped Mohun Bagan to build their team. He works for our club only. Yes, compare to previous seasons, Santosh has taken more responsibility this season. And we all are backing him for that with support."
The club suffered a major set back against Chennai City FC yesterday and got a stumble in their chase for title. Debabrata came up with a significant comment as he said, "The team played disappointing football in the last couple of games. At this moment, I would have been happier if I would have seen the players and the coaches are training, rather than going back home for vacations till the 26th of this month."
The team will resume their training from 27th March.
