Image Source: XtraTime[/caption]Kolkata: The Santosh Trophy winning entire Bengal football team got felicitated today at Kolkata's one of the best fish cuisines - "Fish Fish" in association with www.xtratime.in in an event named "Trophy haatey, Maachhey Bhaatey". Players like Rana Gharami, Shankar Roy, Mumtaz Akhtar, Basant Singh, Manbir Singh were accompanied by head coach Mridul Banerjee, team physio, manager and the other support staff of the team.
The IFA President Mr. Subrata Dutta himself was present in the felicitation lunch and gave away the special mementos to all the members of the Santosh Trophy winning heroes. In a stimulating speech before the start of the lunch the IFA President congratulated all the players and encouraged everyone to maintain the success rate in the future as well. The players too seemed enjoyed every bit of it with the way the reunion happened.
The IFA President himself was really happy with the way Fish Fish and XtraTime arranged this special felicitation for the Bengal football team. He said, "I want to thank the owners of Fish Fish for such a memorable afternoon. I want to thank Anilava Chatterjee, Aniruddha Guha Roy and Chef Debashish Kundu for their gesture towards the team. They all love football and I will be hoping to get their support in future as well on the field of sports."
The players too seemed overwhelmed to get such a reception. Captain Rana Gharami said, "I love fish items and specially typical Bengali dishes. The lunch has been worth remembering. I want to thank XtraTime and Fish Fish for this excellent re-union." Coach Mridul Banerjee too seemed touched by the reception, "This launch became possible because of my players. This has been an incredible event. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was absolutely brilliant."
Goalkeeper Shankar Roy said, "We worked hard, we had a dream, we were lucky to have such a great coach and the result has been the consequence of that. We are thankful to Fish Fish and XtraTime for this special lunch." The hero of the final, Manbir Singh had the taste of Bengali cuisine for the first time today and his reaction was like, "This is the first time I tasted Bengali food and the quality of the food would drag me here in regular intervals from now on. I loved the food and the atmosphere. Was relating the victorious moment with this felicitation and it made me emotional."
