The most successful team in the history of this famed touranment will play the last match of the group against Meghalaya.
Defending champion Services’ prodigality and defensive errors gifted Meghalaya its first win in Group A at the Tilak Maidan here on Saturday.
The north-eastern State notched up a 2-0 win as Services suffered its second defeat, thereby diminishing its chances of securing a semifinal spot. Meghalaya, on the other hand, kept its hopes very much alive in the group. Chandigarh bowed out the tournament on a high note by holding host Goa to a 1-1 draw at GMC stadium, Bambolim. Chandigarh completed its engagements with four points from four matches. The draw has made sure that West Bengal is the first team from their group to qualify in the semifinal with 7 points from the 3 games they played. Though Goa, Services and Meghalaya too are there in the race to be the second team from the group to qualify for the semis.
