Kolkata: The first "big game" of the Hero I-League 2017 is all set to entertain the fans on Sunday as Kingfisher East Bengal to host defending champions Bengaluru FC at the Barasat Stadium. Before taking on the mighty BFC side, former East Bengal gaffer Biswajit Bhattacharya gives five tips to present coach Trevor Morgan. Here goes the prescription the former Indian captain has for the British coach:

Compact defence: The defense needs to be very compact. They are the best attacking side in India right now. On paper they are literally flaw-less. It's just the start of the league and I won't mind securing a point in this game rather than being over-ambitious. Bukenye is playing really well but his partner in the central defense would be crucial against BFC.

Wing Play: Albert Roca has the luxury of having three outstanding defensive options in the defense in terms of the foreigners. If you don't have the place to give an opportunity to India's best central defender Sandesh Jinghan, you can guess the strength you have in your back four. Even a fullback like Rino Anto has also been benched. But this BFC defense also find themselves into trouble when they are stretched from the wings. If East Bengal wants to score, they need to put constant pressure on the wings.

Possession: The best way to frustrate BFC is to keep the possession as much as possible. Don't allow them to control the game. Mehtab's role will be crucial and the good thing is that he has been in fine form so far in this season. Plaza and Amirov can be a great combination on the upfront if the East Bengal midfield can get the better of the BFC midfield. Miss passes can be dangerous.

Wedson's position: The Haitian playmaker is in his usual best when he is thrown on the right flank. But when Trevor is using him as a no.10, then you have got to believe that the coach doesn't have any better option in that position. He is a highly skillful player and can adopt at any position. If East Bengal has to do well, Wedson has to be at his best.

Brand of football: The first objective should be to secure three points in my philosophy. Effective football is always better than playing attractive football witout positive results. But I believe, if you can play effective football, it can be beautiful as well.
