Kolkata: Mohun Bagan will look to continue its winning momentum in I League ahead of their forthcoming away matches against Chennai City FC and DSK Shivajians respectively. The Kolkata giants have started their I League campaign in style, winning all the three home matches so far. The Mariners will leave the city tomorrow to play their first away matches.

The entire team is bubbling in confidence following the hat-trick of wins. Haiti marksman Sony Norde, who played his first match for the Mariners last night, is happy to have played the full 90 minutes against Minerva Punjab FC. He left his mark in the match with his trademark runs down the left flank.

“If I score or not, the important thing is to return with a win. If we score 5 goals and end up on the losing side that won’t serve our purpose. We need to play as a team. Our target will be to get 6 points from two away matches. We are a happy family and our team spirit is good,” said Norde to the reporters after the practice session at the club grounds on Wednesday.

Mohun Bagan Coach Sanjay Sen has warned his players not to get complacent with the three wins so far. According to the gaffer, “The nine points that we earned will have no meaning if we cannot win our next two away matches. Last two years our away match record hasn’t been good at all. We have to also take it into account that all the other teams in the league are improving day by day. The foreigners are also joining the respective teams. Yesterday, I was watching the DSK and Chennai City FC match. Both teams look promising.”

On the team front defender Kingshuk Chakraborty and midfielder Shehnaz Singh is yet to recover from the injury they suffered in the match against Shillong Lajong. Eduardo, who made his debut yesterday, trained with the reserve players today afternoon.

Speaking to the reporters, the Brazilian said, “I feel comfortable because everybody in the team make me easy. We played very good football and scored three quick goals. The forthcoming games will be tougher,” feel Eduardo.

The Brazilian defender is impressed with Anas Edathodika, who also is playing his first season for the Mariners.

“He is a good footballer. In fact all the back four has given me full support last night. I am impressed with Anas from the ISL. He is a very good defender. It’s easy playing alongside him,” felt Eduardo.

The top scorer at the moment, Darryl Duffy is enjoying his goal scoring form. A huge fan of Scottish footballer Allys Mascot, Duffy emphasized on holding on to the consistency.
