The Atletico de Kolkata footballer had an arthroscopy in his right knee. He got operated by Dr Kanchan Bhattacharya in a city nursing home today.
Arnab suffered the injury during the Atletico de Kolkata practice session ahead of the Indian Super League (ISL) semi-final first leg match in Kolkata. The injury ruled him out for the remainder of ISL due to which he had to miss both the semi finals against Mumbai City FC.
The 27 year old defender has been very consistent with his performance in the ISL. He has played 12 matches in the ensuing ISL for Atletico. The absence of Arnab will no doubt be a huge blow to East Bengal as he has been a pillar in defence for the Red and Gold.
In a bid to bolster the defence the officials have signed Mumbai City FC defender Anwar Ali along with Ugandan defender Ivan Bukenya.
