The 19 year old batsman impressed one and all with his batting in the three tests that he played in the series so far.
The teen sensation from Lancashire has been ruled out of the series due to a fractured finger, and will be flying back to England. Haseeb batted with his fractured finger to score a gritty half century. He came into bat during England second innings with his side reeling at 107/6. His innings of 59 runs off 156 balls in Mohali was widely appreciated.
Virat heaped huge praise on Haseeb for his gritty knock in the second innings at Mohali.
“Wish him a speedy recovery. He showed great character for a 19 year old at this level. He put his hand up when his team wanted him to do it. He showed great maturity to play with the tail-enders. He knew exactly what he wanted to do and you can sense it as a captain, this guy is intelligent and knows the game,” said Virat during the post match conference.
The family members of Hameed were also present to cheer for him at the PCA stadium.
