Source : Facebook[/caption]Internet Desk : The in-form Kingfisher East Bengal is all set to face their first real threat in the 64th Bordoloi Trophy semi final on Wednesday. The Red & Gold brigade who are now enjoying a dream run of winning thirteen games on a trot, will be facing the first I-League side in the tournament when they will take on Shillong Lajong in the second semi final at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium tomorrow.
The Shillong based I-League side is bolstered by their Head Coach Thangboi Singto who was not in charge of the side in the group league games. Thangboi said,"I'm very happy with the way my team has played in the tournament to reach this far. We have some inexperienced but talented youngsters in our side and I believe if they can play to their potential, we have a good chance to beat East Bengal as well."
The Shillong Lajong side claimed that the East Bengal side is much superior compare to them as they are claiming that they have come with their second team. Though the East Bengal coach Ranjan Chowdhury nullified their claim, as he said,"Who said that they have come with a second team? They have all their senior players except two U19 boys. I have a motivated side and they know what they need to do to reach the final."
The East Bengal coach was asked if the inclusion of Thangboi Singto to make any difference or not. But the East Bengal coach replied in his usual style,"I don't bother about the opposition. I told my boys not to treat this game as a semi final and to play their natural game."
On the flip side of it, Thangboi said,"I have a team full of youngsters. Except one player who is '97-born, all my players are 99 born. But this will be a great opportunity for my boys to prove their quality."
The East Bengal side went to the famous Kamakhya Temple today to get the blessings from the almighty. The five time champions' Kolkata outfit will be playing with their all three foreigners as they are giving a lot of respect to their oppositions.
