Internet Desk: A superb knock (58 not out) from opener Cameron Bancroft guided Australia A to a 3 wicket win over India A in the first unofficial four day test at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane. The Australians were 4-59 overnight in pursuit of 159 for victory, with Cameron Bancroft (16) and Beau Webster (6) at the crease.

Both of them played patiently to put on a partnership of 57 runs before Webster was leg before to Varun Aaron for 30 runs. The hosts were 107/5 at that stage. Bancroft added another crucial 24 runs with wicket keeper Sam Whiteman for the sixth wicket. Whiteman was eventually dismissed by Jayant Yadav as he gave a catch to Manish Pandey for 14 runs. Next batsman to be dismissed was Chadd Sayers who was bowled by Shardul Thakur for 15 runs. Bancroft ensured there were no more casualties as he guided his team to a three wicket win to give the hosts 1-0 lead in the series.

Despite a delayed start to the day due to a wet outfield following heavy rain, the hosts chased down the 159-run target set by India A yesterday. Play was abandoned yesterday due to rain with Australia A requiring 100 runs to secure a victory and six wickets still in hand.
Earlier on day three, the hosts bowled India A out for 156 to end their second innings just before the lunch break.  Australia’s three pace bowlers (David Moody, Chadd Sayers and Daniel Worrall) snared three wickets each, with Mitch Swepson grabbing the other to accumulate five for the match.

Australia A Captain, Peter Handscomb, was named Player of the Match following his first innings performance of 87 runs off 93 balls. The second four-day match will commence at AB Field in Brisbane on Thursday.
