Internet Desk: Shai Hope hits a century to pose a threat over Indian bowlers in the warm up match ended with a draw. Among the Indian bowlers only Amit Mishra made a mark by grabbing 4 wickets as Ashwin was injured and could not play this match. Ashwin still remains doubtful for the first test in Antigua starting from 21st July.

Batting first in the two-day warm up match India scored 258 for 6 on the first day. They declared their innings overnight. Starting their innings yesterday morning West Indies Cricket Board President’s XI lost an early wicket. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up the wicket of skipper Leon Johnson in 2 runs.

After that fall of wicket WICBP XI started fighting back. It was a partnership of 122 run second wicket partnership between Hope and R. Chandrika. Mishra took the wicket of Chandrika(69) to break the partnership. However, Hope remained unbeaten in 118 upto the end of the match. His steady and patient scoring kept all the Indian bowlers in pressure. Most of his runs came through singles.

After the fall of the wicket of Chandrika Indian bowlers kept the WICBP XI team in a little bit of pressure. Mishra took three more wickets. Mohammed Sami and Umesh Yadav also took one wickets each. Apart from the two openers Jomel Warrican also scored an unbeaten 50.

After the two-day warm up Indian coach Anil Kumble will be a little worried about the bowling performance. On the first day when India scored 258, WICBP XI passed Indian score to make a total of 281 for seven. The match was drawn.

India will play their second warm up match against the same team from 14th July. It will be a three-day match at the same ground.
