Michel Salgado joins Premier Futsal League. alchetron.net[/caption]Internet Desk: Former Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado has opted to come out of retirement to join the novel indoor league in India, Premier Futsal League.
Michel Salgado, 40, who played for Real Madrid and Blackburn Rovers as a right-back, is the latest high- profile player to join the league, according to Goal.com.
Salgado made his debut for La Liga side Celta Vigo, before moving to Real Madrid. He would make 254 appearances for Madrid, with four goals, in a decade’s service at the Santiago Bernabeu.
After spending 10 seasons with the Los Blancos, Salgado moved to the English Premier League in 2009 to play for Blackburn Rovers. The Spanish defender made 66 appearances in three years at the club, before announcing his retirement.
He featured 50 times for the Spanish national team, featuring in a World Cup and a European Championship.
Last week, Manchester United legend and England’s most decorated player Paul Scholes became the second marquee signing to play in the Premier Futsal League, after Portuguese Deco’s recruitment.
