
Kolkata: The newly proposed Indian Champions League is likely to happen amidst all speculations, as per sources. Though the competition has all possibilities to become valueless after AFC's denial of having three top tier competitions in a season. As it seems, the I-League and ISL are likely to have an AFC Competition slot a piece and the Champions League might become a friendly competition among the top I-League and ISL teams.
The Kolkata heavyweights and The IFA again met in a five star hotel today to discuss about their stand in the evening but their discuss couldn't quite find a solution as the expected letter from The AIFF Secretary Kushal Das is yet to arrive. Though, as www.xtratime.in informed on Thursday that a mail was sent to the IFA by the AIFF Secretary, informing them that they would get back to them in a few days.
The IFA Secretary has asked the Kolkata clubs to wait and watch for a few more days as per the letter from Kushal Das. East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar told after the meeting, "It's disappointing that they are yet to send us the minutes of the meeting we had on last Saturday. But we have decided to wait a bit more from here on. Lets see."
On behalf East Bengal, Club President Dr Pranab Dasgupta, Secretary Kalyan Majumder, Debabrata Sarkar and Dr Shanti Ranjan Dasgupta were present in the meeting. Srinjoy Bose represented Mohun Bagan, as IFA Secretary Utpal Ganguli and President Subrata Dutta were also involved in the discussion.
