East Bengal & Mohun Bagan officially confirm their presence at Kuala Lumpur in AFC meeting

Internet Desk: Kolkata giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan officially confirms their participation in the all important meeting at Kuala Lumpur on 7th June. Today, after a meeting at the five star hotel in the city, the Kolkata giants have decided to confirm their presence in the AFC meeting at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur involving all stakeholders to discuss the future roadmap of Indian football.

Both the clubs had joined hands in their tirade against Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), organisers of the Indian Super League (ISL), and threatened to disrupt the cash-rich league if their demands of franchise fee waiver and money from the central pool were not met.But on Wednesday, after getting a positive reply from Patel regarding their future in Indian football, both the outfits looked to budge from their hard stance.


Today, Mohun Bagan Assistant Secretary Srinjoy Bose represent his club in the meeting on the absence of the other officials Anjan Mitra and Debasish Dutta, while Secretary Kalyan Majumder, Debabrata Sarkar and Dr Shanti Ranjan Dasgupta represented East Bengal. IFA Secretary Utpal Ganguli too was there in the meeting. Mohun Bagan though have confirmed that Mr. Debasish Dutta, Director, United Mohun Bagan Football Team Pvt Ltd will attend the meeting on 7th June.


It is heard that IMG-R might meet all the franchises on 5th June at London to discuss their stand and they also might prepare a power point presentation to unveil their opinion in the meeting at Kuala Lumpur. It is also learnt that the IFA Secretary told the club officials to get well prepared about their stand as they might get very little time to say their views in the meeting at Kuala Lumpur.
