Star Indian footballer looses his job

Internet Desk: Indian National team footballer CK Vineeth was fired from his Accountants General office. Vineeth was appointed as auditor in the Accountants General office at Thiruvananthapuram but he failed to join is duty as a result his services were terminated.

"Probation period cannot be extended beyond double the normal period. In no circumstances Vineeth's probation can be extended beyond four years and he had completed four years on May 6th 2106. Since he has not successfully completed the probation his services has been terminated," according to a order issued by the Principle of Accountants General.

Vineeth was on his way to Kolkata to take part in the Federation Cup final to be held on May 21 when the news broke.  He told The News Minute he was not aware of the order issued by the AG’s office. “If they have taken the decision, I am helpless,” he said.

The Bangaluru FC player had also received a non-official confirmation last Sunday claiming that he would be fired from the service due to lack of attendance.

However a letter was sent to Sasikanth Shrama, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India by Minister for Sports A C Moideen, requesting not to fire the National footballer as it would be an hindrance to sports.

A native of Kannur, the 28-year-old player had maintained the view that his priority was playing football. “Tournaments without intervals forced me to be absent from the office,” he had told TNM on Sunday. He had joined the office in 2012. He plays Bengaluru FC player in I- League. In ISL, he plays for Kerala Blasters.
