Tickets trouble for East Bengal as fake tickets get distributed

Kolkata: East Bengal team is going through a dream run in the Hero I-League 2017 campaign winning six matches on the trot, still controversy is not staying away from the Red and Gold brigade. The Red and Gold officials have found out that in the last two home matches against Mumbai FC and Chennai City FC which the home team were emerged victorious with a 2-0 and 3-0 win, almost 50 fake tickets were sold and distributed among the supporters.

The officials have already informed Barasat Police about this matter and had pleaded them to take immediate action. The Police have arrested five persons regarding this matter. The officials are worried of the fact that few days ahead of the big derby, they do not want any chaos happening in Siliguri regarding tickets and have also asked Kanchenjunga stadium to look into the matter. The tickets which are getting distributed illegally had the sign of the police authorities which was copied as well as other logos being printed in the same way as the original ones. Then how was those identified? It was the serial no. which could not be changed and fake tickets were identified with the serial no.

East Bengal club secretary Kalyan Majumdar today in the press meet said addressing the media, “I would like to request the supporters to buy the tickets for the forthcoming matches from the proper outlet mentioned and from the club tent. Please co-operate with us. This is good for the club only.”

Meanwhile, East Bengal football team was boosted up with a new co-sponsor in the form of a steel company shaking hands with them for a period of one year. Club General Secretary Sri Kalyan Majumdar welcomed the Steel company as the new co-sponsor and member of the East Bengal family. He wished the contract which is initially signed for a period of one year would be of a longer duration in the future and hopes both the partner will benefit from their mutual relationship. The company’s Director Mr. Govind Beriwal told, “We always encourage sporting activities and are a supporter of sports. Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli is our Brand Ambassador. We are delighted to be a partner of India’s leading football team Kingfisher East Bengal.” The company’s logo will be on the back of East Bengal jersey from I-League derby itself.
