Image Source: XtraTime[/caption]Internet Desk: Parthiv Patel has retained his place in the Indian test team as wicket-keeper for Mumbai Test against England. India’s No.1 keeper Wriddhiman Saha has failed to regain his fitness in time from his thigh injury.
Wriddhi was rested for the third Test after he got a strain in his left thigh at the second test against England at Vaizag. Parthiv Patel was called back for the third test after eight long years, as Saha’s replacement.
Parthiv played well on his return with impressive knocks in both the innings(42, 67*) of the third test at Mohali.
According to some sources, the decision to ratain the Gujarat keeper was taken in a meeting, which was held on Saturday evening.
Rahul is expected to be fit for the fourth test in Mumbai and is still part of the Indian squad. If Rahul gets fit, Parthiv would play in the middle-order in place of Karun Nair.
A BCCI official shared, "With the Ranji Trophy going on, it was felt that the squad should not be packed with too many players.”
Pacer Ishant Sharma has been released from the squad for his wedding.
India squad for fourth Test: Virat Kohli (c), Parthiv Patel (wk), Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Karun Nair, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Jayant Yadav, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
