Internet Desk: Indian right-arm fast bowler Mohammed Shami will reportedly miss the ODI and T-20 series against England due to injury. Shami was hurt on his right knee in the test series against England and is recovering from injury. Notably, Ishant Sharma is expected to replace Shami in the upcoming limited overs series.

The 26-year-old Bengal pacer is still recovering from his injury and will be out of the field at least a month due to the injury. Sami has had a injury-prone season so far. He has spent more time in recovering from injuries than playing cricket.

Shami played his last ODI in the semi-final of World Cup 2015 against Australia at Sydney. India lost that match after winning six consecutive games.

As per BCCI sources, Delhi fast bowler Ishant Sharma might get a chance in the Indian team in Shami’s place while experienced seamer Ashish Nehra is also in rader for the ODI & T-20 series vs England starting in January.

Nehra had an impressive 2016 but missed out the ODI series against New Zealand due to injury.

Team India is going through a phase of injuries as a lot of players were ruled out of the squad during England series.

India's opener Rohit Sharma will also miss the ODI series against England. Rohit's absence will, perhaps, ensure return of Shikhar Dhawan into the India squad.

While Karun Nair, the triple centurion in Chennai Test, might also get a place into the squad. Nair made his ODI debut on India's tour of Zimbabwe, but the youngster had a forgettable outing back then. His team mate, KL Rahul, who slammed 199 at Chennai, could also get a chance as an opener.

India will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against England. Team India's limited overs skipper MS Dhoni will be leading the team after a gap of two months.
