Internet Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to go ahead with the fifth and final test match of the series against England. Although no official decision has been taken regarding hosting of the fifth match of the Paytm Test series against England in Chennai from December 16.

Tamil Nadu's iconic Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa passed away last night in Chennai following a cardiac arrest. The situation in the state remains tense with a three-day mourning announced today. The BCCI along with TNCA is closely keeping a eye on the situation.

The Board is in constant touch with Tamil Nadu Cricket Association & local authorities and constantly monitoring the situation. The Board will make an announcement shortly as it fully understands the sensitivity of the matter.

"We have not taken any decision in regards to the Chennai Test," said BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke, at the Cricket Centre in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the Round- 9, Group B game of the Ranji Trophy, between Orissa and Jharkhand, which was suppose to take place in Dindigul from December 7, will be rescheduled. Fresh venue and dates of this match will be announced soon.

The Senior Tournament Committee of the BCCI met in Mumbai today and revoked the decision of rescheduling the matches between Bengal vs. Gujarat and Hyderabad vs. Tripura which was called off at the end of the second days play due to smog in Delhi in the month of November. Now all the four teams will get one point each.

Bengal seems to have suffered the most because a lot would have depended on the outcome of their match against Gujarat. The Cricket Association of Bengal had sent a letter on Monday, requesting the BCCI to reconsider its earlier decision to reschedule the Ranji matches.

Hyderabad has already qualified from Group C for the Ranji knockouts, while Tripura are out of the reckoning. Gujarat is second in Group A behind defending champions Mumbai, while Bengal is at sixth. The additional point will move them level with Punjab, on 18.
