BCCI Imposes Age Cap For National Selectors. Image : Orissapost.com[/caption]Internet Desk : The BCCI has made some strict rules and regulations regarding the appointment of national selectors, as they must have international or first class cricketing experience in their kitty. In other note, they have also mentioned that the candidates must be under 60 years of age , by stating this , they have closed the path for the big names like Mohindar Amarnath,Dilip Vengsarkar,Ajit Wadekar,Gundappa Biswanath.
In a press release BCCI has said that the willing candidates must apply for the post till 14th September. The interested candidates will have to fulfill a lot of essential litmus test for the positions of senior, junior and women national selectors .
For consideration of the senior national selection committee , a BCCI press release quoted that, “He or She should have represented the Indian team either in the Test match or a One-day International or more than 50 first class matches in India, in a team selected by the BCCI."
BCCI have also stated that for becoming a junior selector, the applicant must have the experience of,“more than 50 first class matches in India to be considered for a position." They have also said the candidates have to go through a medical test if they are selected for this post.
The BCCI added , “He or She should have retired on record , from all forms of cricket at least five year prior to this date of application.” They also added that the candidates must not be a part of any IPL franchise or any other cricket league in the world.
“If the candidates are selected for the job the must have to cut all connections with other other cricket coaching academies or any other association regarding this game. They cannot write any articles or any match reports regarding cricket in any media house." BCCI added .
As of necessity, “The candidates must have to be an Indian , free form all criminal activities and should not be under any authorization from BCCI or any association consent to BCCI or any government bureau."
