Pragyan Ojha claimed five wickets. File Pic[/caption]Internet Desk: Bengal team has another one day in hand to chase 180runs to win the Dr. K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament. Prior to that Bengal skipper Pragyan Ojha advised the team members not to be under pressure of the final day of final match.
“Our players gave good effort. The target is not too high. I asked the players not to think of the target. We have to be patient till the end 90 overs”, said Pragyan Ojha. Ashoke Dinda was injured after bowling 15.4 overs and could not bowl for the rest of the day.
After bowling better in the first innings Bengal bowlers failed to keep their performance as KSCA took a lead of 230 runs. The eight wicket partnership between Samarth R and Gowtham. K kept the Bengal bowlers rattled. Now the challenge is upto the batsmen.
Both the KSCA openers played good innings to keep Bengal bowlers under pressure. Samarth R scored unbeaten 68 runs finally after being retired hurt at 26. Another opener Mayank Agarwal scored the highest for KSCA, 74 from 132 balls. Bengal bowlers took eight wickets of KSCA within 184. But finally they scored 309 runs.
Pragyan Ojha took five wickets for Bengal. This was the best performance which was witnessed from Ojha in the whole tournament as he was captaining the side in this match and led the team from the front.
In the second innings Bengal lost their early wicket at 45 runs. Prasenjit Das was out for 28 runs. Now they have a full day in hand to chase 180 runs having nine wickets in hand. In this stage Bengal batsmen are also thinking of taking extra responsibility.
“I and Sudip Chatterjee have to take much responsibility. Manoj Tiwary is not in the match. If we can play with much patients we will win it definitely. This win will encourage us prior to the Ranji Trophy”, said Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran.
