Sania to face Martina Hingis in Cincinnati Open doubles final. File Pic.[/caption]Internet Desk: Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis will be on court of the Cincinnati Masters final, but on either side. After the break up of this women’s doubles pair they are now to face each other pairing with others.
Sania paired with Czech veteran Barbora Strycova to start her new doubles venture. However, she is successful until now as she reached the final of their first tournament. On the other hand Martina Hingis has paired with Coco Vandeweghe. It will be challenge for both Sania and Hingis to face each other and win the title. Sania and Hingis, who won 14 titles as doubles partners, decided to part ways earlier this month after a dip in form.
The Cincinnati Masters is the penultimate tournament before the year's last major - the US Open.
In the semi-final Sania and her partner beat the second seeds Hao-Ching Chan and Yung-Jan Chan. Hao-Ching Chan and Yung-Jan Chan have 10 doubles titles overall and two within this year.
Through out this tournament Sania and Barbora played a very clean tennis. In the round of 16 they beat the all American pair of Christina McHale and Maria Sanchez by 6-4 6-4. They then beat Timea Babos of Hungary and Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan 7-6, 6-1 in the quarterfinal.
Hingis and her partner had an easier path to reach the final. In the round of 16 they got a walkover form Kiki Bertens of Netherlands and Johanna Larsson of Sweden. Also an walkover in the quarterfinal from Sara Errani of Italy and Carla Sanchez Navarro of Spain. In the semi-final they beat Julia Görges and Karolina Pliskova by 6-1, 6-4.
