Yesterday National Anti Doping Agency(NADA) notified shot putter Inderjeet Singh to apply for a test of his sample-B after the sample-A tested positive.
The 28-year old gold winner of Asian Athletics Championships in 2015 was tested on 22nd June for any banned substance. After that he was notified yesterday. The athlete said, NADA informed him of the result of his sample-A late on Monday. The previous tests of him tested negative.
However, NADA is yet to declare anything about Inderjeet Singh. They only sated that an athlete tested positive. "The athlete has been notified and given the right to get his B Sample tested," said Navin Agarwal, director general of NADA. Day before yesterday Indian wrestler Narsingh Yadav was tested positive for having banned substance. He is about to miss the Olympic. However, he cried of sabotage against him.
Inderjeet also echoed Yadav. He was among the first athletes who qualified for the Rio Olympics as he made the cut previous year. "This is a conspiracy and there is something wrong in it. This will be checked by the doctors though. I don't want to comment on it but whoever has tried to raise their voice in this country, they are forced to shut up," said Inderjeet. He also added, “My sample has been tampered with. Why would a player take something which is not good for his health?”.
According to the Asian Gold medalist he was being punished due to his outspoken nature. "I used to speak straight for the Indian athletes. There are many things happening with me for past one year. Media shows that I am running from dope test but I am not. It disturbs a player. I am not in a situation to say anything right now but this is one thing
which destroys a player in our country. I will defend it”, stated confident Inderjeet.
