Internet Desk: Djokovic walks in the footsteps of Lionel Messi? A defeat made the football maestro announcing his decision of retirement from national team. In case of Djokovic a loss at the Wimbledon made him announce to leave the Davis cup squad of Serbia. However, he did not announce of any retirement like Messi.

On Saturday it was stunning loss for Djokovic against Sam Querrey at the Wimbledon. He could not even reach the final 16 of the trophy. This is the first time since 2009 French Open he left any tournament without reaching the quarterfinal stage. More over this year there was great expectation over him to win the Wimbledon as he eyed for
five-in-a-row.

The shock of the loss made him pull off name from the Davis Cup squad. Soon after the match he announced of his decision over Davis Cup. When asked whether he will lead the Davis Cup squad he said, “No, I’m not going to play.”

Serbia had their quarterfinal matches against Great Britain from 15th-17th July. World no.2 Andy Murray is to lead the England side as the opponent of Serbia.

Previously Great Britain won 3-1 against Japan in their world group tie where Andy Murray played the major role. On the other hand Serbia won 3-2 against comparatively weak team Kazakhstan. As Djokovic pulled out his name from the national squad it will be a tough challenge for Serbia in the Davis Cup quarterfinal.
