Robin Gurung signs for East Bengal on loan from north East united FC. Facebook[/caption]Internet Desk: East Bengal have availed the services of North East United and Shillong Lajong FC defender Robin Gurung for the I-league edition of the 2016-17. Robin, presently a North East United player will come on loan to East Bengal after the third edition of the ISL gets over.
Robin Gurung primarily a stopper but can play as a right back and left back too. Gurung made his professional debut for ONGC in the I-League on 4 December 2010 in the first round of the 2010–11 season against East Bengal at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, ONGC lost 1–0.
On 18 July 2013 it was confirmed that Gurung has signed for Shillong Lajong with one other player Vinay Singh. Gurung made his debut for Shillong Lajong in the I-League on 22 September 2013 against Dempo at the Duler Stadium in which he played the whole match; as Shillong Lajong won the match 0–3.
Robin represented North East United FC in the 2014 Indian Super League and was a regular, playing as a Left Back and garnered praise for his sturdy displays and excellent one-on-one defending. He played a total of 16 matches for North East United in the last two editions of the ISL.
The Red and Gold brigade have also availed the services of Mohammedan Sporting left back for the upcoming two seasons. Deepak was stupendous in the left back position making some positive moves and overlaps for the Black and White army in the whole edition of the Second division league.
Deepak too was superb for Mohammedan in the last edition of the CFL Premier Division where he caught eyes of lot of former players with intellectual moves and hard defending display. Deepak was also in the CFL best XI last season. Deepak will come to Kolkata on 4th July.
Meanwhile, East Bengal officials and team management are planning to arrange a residential camp for the players in the first week of July at Kalyani. Trevor Morgan will be reaching the city on 2nd July.
