Mohammedan SC rout BSF 4-1 in Kalinga Cup. Image Source : Mohammedan SC[/caption]Internet Desk: Mohammedan Sporting Club rout BSF Siliguri 4-1 in the quarter-final on Sunday to advance into the semi-final of the All India Kalinga Cup 2016, at Barabarti Stadium in Orrisha.
Mohammedan SC started off agrresively and surged ahead within the first quarter of the game when James Moga scored off a Deepak Kumar pass in the 13th minute, only for Nilambram Sa to restore the parity for BSF in the 20th minute.
However, Mohammedan SC did regain their one goal advantage nine minutes later as Moga completed brace from Ajay Singh's pass, which saw Mohammedan SC leading 2-1 at the interval.
Mohammedan SC began the second-half from where they left in the first, and eight minutes into the half they virtually took the game out of BSF's reach after Pritam Singh found the back of the net with a brilliant solo run from the right side. BSF, meanwhile, tried all out to make something out of the game but led by Lancine Toure and Rana Gharami, the Mohammedan SC defence did not gave away anything.
Tonmoy Ghosh in the dying minuted capped the day with a clinical finish from Basanta Singh's pass. The final scoreline read 4-1 in favour of the Black Panthers and now they
would take on Army XI in the semi-final on Tuesday.
