Internet Desk: After Anirban Lahiri, its now SSP Chawrasia who booked his place in the Rio Olympics 2016 with teenage prodigy Aditi Ashok.

As per the rules, a total of 60 golfers can qualify, as per the PGA Tour rankings. Although the final list is to be determined by the 11th of July 2016, there are reasons enough to cheer, because unless and until Indian golfers fail miserably, the places are almost booked. By now, two men and one woman have qualified for the main event, to be held from 11th to 14th of August, 2016, at Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Shiv Shankar Prasad Chaurasia  who is associated with golf from the most humble beginnings as a caddie, this golfer is ranked 42nd as per the PGA rankings. Having begun with a runner up finish at the 1999 Indian Open, this man has come a long way. Self taught, this man has recently won the 2016 Hero Indian Open, thus ensuring that his wins are no fluke. Another man who can give his best for India any given day. One should see his play, not rankings, capable of surprising anybody.

Aditi Ashok is the girl one India should look forward to.  A teenage prodigy, this 18 year old has sent ripples across the golfing circle. She has even finished 31st at the Oates Victorian Open, her debut as a professional. She surprised everybody winning the Ladies European Tour Q School in December 2015. Currently ranked 58th of the 60 qualifiers, she has a chance to improve upon the same.
