Colombian legend Valderrama may visit Kolkata. File Pic[/caption]Kolkata: Colombian football legend Carlos Valderrama may visit Kolkata in the month of July for a noble cause. Satadru Dutta, who brought Pele to Kolkata few months back has taken the initiative to bring Valderrama to the 'City of Joy'. Valderrama will be coming to Kolkata to participate in a charity football match to raise funds for late Alip Chakraborty's family and Bapi Majhi. Alip, a diehard East Bengal fan lost his battle with cancer and died last week. Bapi, a diehard Mohun Bagan supporter is also suffering from stomach cancer and is presently under treatment.
Satadru Dutta has already started planning and shared his ideas. He said, "I have already spoken to former footballer and M.L.A Dipendu Biswas to help us organise the match in Basirhat and he has assured me full support." He later added, " I was trying to bring Valderrama much earlier but he has his Copa America commentary commitments. So, he has promised me of sometime in July as he will be free during that time. But, I need to remunerate him something during his stay. As he is a former footballer, it will be difficult to arrange sponsors but I will try my level best and if Carlos is ready to come, I will bring him at any cost."
Satadru Dutta also added that xtratime.in has inspired him with this idea of helping Alip and Bapi. "The way xtratime.is standing beside them and their family it is really remarkable. I am also looking forward to the auction organised by xtratime.in on June 11th and try to be present there on that day. Let Anilavaa da (Anilavaa Chatterjee, owner xtratime.in) return from Italy, I will discuss with him regarding my ideas and plan something collectively", he signed off.
