Image Source: Xtra Time[/caption]Internet Desk: Mitrabha Guha missed Gold narrowly in the Asian Youth Rapid Chess Championship being held at Ulaan Baatar in Mongolia today. Mitrabha scored 6 points in seven rounds,half a point behind Garidmagai Byambasuren of Mongolia who was lucky to salvage a draw against the boy from Tollygunge in the final round.
Rajdeep Sarkar finished 5th in the Under 18 Category.
R Vaishali maintained her dominance in the Girls Under 16 Section by winning Gold Medal for India.Altogether,India got 8 Medals in the Rapid tournament with 1 Gold 5 Silver and 2 Bronze.
Earlier India had dominated the Asian Youth Blitz Championship by winning 5 Gold Medals.
The 6th Round of the Asian Youth Chess Championship resumes tomorrow with the reigning champion Indians expected to face stiff competition from the players from Iran,Vietnam and Mongolia.
